  Ralph Pelz PRESTON, Ralph Pelz, former resident of Preston, died suddenly, Wednesday, at Howell, Mich,, where he has resided for about 15 years. Mr. Pelz visited Preston, on a motoring trip just two weeks ago and brought his elderly mother from her home in Dundas, to renew acquaintances here. He was 53. A junior hockey and softball player, as a younger man, he was well known in this district. Mr. Pelz was at one time in the insurance business here and was manager of the A & P store, before he moved to the United States. In Howell he operated a service station and grocery business. When in Preston he was a member of St. Clement's Church and was member of Galt Council, Knights of Columbus. In recent years, he has been a member of the Howell K of C council. His father, F. O. Pelz, was mayor of Preston at one time and active in the public utilties commission, for many years. Survivors include his mother Mrs. F. O. Pelz, Dundas; his wife, the former Ann Hill of Preston, now of Howell; two daughters at home and a brother, Arthur, in Detroit. Kitchener-Waterloo Record 14 Jan 1955 pg 7
