    • FRANK BLEILER DIED TODAY IN ALLANDALE HOME

      Death Came Unexpectedly Altho Health Poor For Year And Half; Active In Sport Ventures

      Frank Xavier Bleiler, former King street businessman and well known sport enthusiast of Preston, died at Simcoe Hall, Allandale, this morning according to a telegraph received by friends and relatives in this district. News of his passing was recieved with genuine regret. He had been in falling health for over a year and a half and had gone to Allandale to recuperate. In the passing of Frank Bleiler, Preston loses one of its prominent figures. A resident of the town all his life, with the exception of a short time he spent in Drayton where he and his brother Charles were engaged in the hotel business, the late Mr. Bleiler became prominently idenified with many orginisations and causes. His greatest interest probably was in sport, hockey was one of his favorites. Showing his love for the winter game, he was largely instrumental in the formation of the local arena company. He worked untiringly to give Preston a good place in the sport world and for some years was at the helm of local hockey clubs. He was also a member of the Preston Lawn Bowling Club. Born in Preston 65 years ago, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bleiler, the deceased attended the local separate school and upon graduation entered the shoe firm of W. D. Hepburn, where he learned the trade. Later he went to Drayton, where he and his brother became partners in a hotel establishment in that town. Returning to Preston after a few years, the late Frank Bleiler, learned the barbering business with the Schultz brothers. He eventually succeeded them in ownership of the business, still located on King Street and in time be erected the Bleiler block. The late Frank Bleiler married Miss Melinda Bolduc, who predeceased him three years ago. There are surviving three brothers, Charles and Gustav, of Cleveland and Joseph of Saginaw and five sisters, Mrs. Francis Malcolm, Detroit: Mrs. Joseph Werstein of Detroit: Mrs. Anna Lepine, Kitchener: Mrs. W. H. Fischer, Kitchener and Mrs. Mary Ebach of Toronto. Funeral arrangments have not been completed, altho interment will likely be made in Preston.
