- Schwartzentruber. ---Barbara, daughter of the late John and Barbara (Gingerich) Brenneman, was born April 30, 1866; passed away Jan. 1, 1950, at the home of her son (John), Tavistock, Ont.; aged 83 y. 8 m. 1 d. Death followed an illness of eight months. On Dec. 13, 1887, she was married to John S. Schwartzentruber, who preceded her in death sixteen years ago. In her youth she united with the Amish Mennonite Church, remaining faithful until death. One daughter (Emma) predeceased her. Surviving are 3 sons (Dan, Stratford, Ont.; David, Tavistock; and John , East Zorra), 4 daughters (Katie-Mrs. J. B. Yantzi, Pigeon, Mich.; Sarah-Mrs. Simeon Gascho, Baden, Ont.; Laura-Mrs. Aaron Roby, East Zorra; and Maryann-Mrs. Peter R. Zehr, New Hamburg, Ont.), 27 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers (John, New Hamburg, Ont.; Aaron, Tavistock, Ont.; and Dan, Kitchener, Ont.), 2 sisters (Mrs. Menno Wagler, Baden, Ont.; and Mrs. Peter Schwartzentruber, Petersburg, Ont.), and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home of her son, East Zorra, Jan. 3, in charge of Daniel Wagler, and at the Sixteenth Line A. M. Church, with Henry Yantzi and B. B. King officiating. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
