Notes - MACHMUELLER, Ernest - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ernest Herman Machmueller, 91, announces his passing on Monday, October 9, 2006 at Stratford General Hospital. He had resided in Kitchener until moving to Tavistock in May 2006. Ernest was born at Herne, Germany on July 20, 1915 a son of the late Herman and Charlotte (Schenk) Machmueller. He was a member of the New Apostolic Church where he had been actively involved in the church choir and other congregational activities. He had served as a paratrooper with the German Airforce from 1933-1947. After moving to Canada he owned and operated nursing homes in Kitchener. Ernest is the beloved father of Klaus and wife Barbara Machmueller of Tavistock; dear grandfather of Julie and husband Steven Van Manen, Matthew Machmueller and friend Anne, Daniel and wife Melissa Machmueller, David Machmueller and friend Meredith; dear great-grandfather of Elise and Olivia Van Manen. He was predeceased by four wives, Kathe Wilhelm, Helene Zaremba, Helen Kesselring and June Cameron; by his brother, August and by his sister, Mimi. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the New Apostolic Church, corner of St. Vincent Street South and Woods Street, Stratford on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 2 p.m. Bishop Peter Esser will officiate. Interment in McTavish Cemetery, South Easthope, township of Perth East. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 519-655-24312
