    • Obituary of Raymond Pierce 1922-2014

      Passed away at the Westmount Long Term Care Residence in Kitchener on April 30, 2014 at the age of 91 years. Loving husband of Viola Pierce (nee) Blackshaw (Currie). Dear father of Rae Ashton, Lynda Pigozzo (Dino), Debbie Chivers (Ken), and David Pierce (Jennifer). Stepfather of Fran Adam, Brenda Currie (Tom Reinhart), Donna Huber, James Currie, Janet Schafer (Doug Bradshaw). Loving grandfather of 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Ray will be remembered by his sister Sharon Lileikis (Tony) and his brother David Pierce (Patricia). Brother-in-law of Donald Ralph and Joan Pierce. Ray will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Violet Pierce, his son Donald and his great granddaughter Eve Gales. Also predeceased by his siblings Bill Pierce, Evelyn Ralph and Allan Pierce.

      Ray was a retired teacher from Conestoga College and served in WWII as a Petty Officer with the Royal Canadian Navy. Ray had been an active member in the Kemble Lions Club. He held several Offices and was a recipient of the Helen Keller Award.

      Friends are invited to share their memories of Ray with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday May 4 from 3-5 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday May 5, 2014 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. with a funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with a reception to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
