- GRIBBEN, THOMAS GEORGE
Ailing for the past sixteen years, Mr. Gribben died at his home, 414 Moore St. in Preston, on Sunday, September 15, 1940, in his 85th year. Husband of Mary Smith. Born in Aberfoyle, he lived in Guelph before coming to Preston twenty-eight years ago. In Preston, he was employed at the Canadian Office until the commencement of his illness. Mr. Gribben was a member of St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church and of the Holy Name Society of that church. He was a lifelong supporter of the Liberal party. Survived by his widow, one sister, Margaret Gribben of Guelph and two nephews, Robert Cardy of Kitchener and Frank Cardy of Toronto. Requiem high mass was sung on Tuesday at 9 by Rev. P. J. Meyer in St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: George M. Fischer, John Dopp, William Pautler, F. E. Deschenes, E. J. Mosack and Mark M. Donald.
