- HUNTER, Jean Audene (Ritchie)
Peacefully at the new St. Catharine's hospital on March 29th. Jean came to Virgil as a farmerette during World War II and while working at the farm of Gordon Hunter, snagged his son Bob as her husband. Jean worked as a supply teacher for the Lincoln County School Board but was primarily a stay at home mom. She was an avid doll collector, artist and loved dogs, horses and chocolate. Dear mother of Patricia (Gary Jeddrie) Hunter, Paula (Patrick Quinn). Beloved grandmother of Jennifer Steele, Jacquelyn Allcock, Samantha Quinn, Bailey Quinn and Hunter Quinn, Great grandmother of Harley Davidson and James Davidson, great great grandmother of Casey. Missed by her sister Shirley Lawrence, and nieces and nephews Mary (Brad) Zimmer, Michelle (Mark) Taylor, Sandy (Libby) Johnston and Tim Johnston, Laurie (Brian) Rees and Rick Hunter and brother in law Jack Hunter. Predeceased by her husband Robert Gordon, sister Miriam. A special thank you to the staff at Pleasant Manor and the staff at the Dialysis Unit.
Cremation has taken place. Private committal for family and close friends will take place at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery on Saturday April 6th at 10:30 am. For Jean's love of dogs donations may be made to the Lincoln County Humane Society.

Jean Ritchie Weds Robert G. Hunter In Baden

ADEN-A very pretty summer wedding was solemnized in Living- ston Presbyterian Church on Saturday afternoon, August 4th, at 2 p.m., when Rev. John V. Mills, minister of the church, officiated for the wedding of Jean Audene, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ritchie of Baden and Cpl. Robert Gordon Hunter, R.C.A.F., elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hunter of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The ceremony was performed before the altar which was tastiny decorated with white tapers, ferns, gladiolii, asters and phlox.
The wedding music was played by Mrs. Frank Howard of Hagersville, aunt of the bridegroom.
The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage, and looked charming in her wedding gown of ivory
duchess satin, made with basque waist, round, fully gathered yoke and the skirt extending into a short train. She wore a long tulle veil
and train with sequin-embroidery trim and carried a shower bouquet of Talisman roses and white asters.
The bride was attended by her two sisters. Miss Miriam Ritchie as maid-of-honor and Miss Shirley Ritchie as bridesmaid. The attendants were gowned alike in pale blue net over taffeta and they wore pale blue lace mittens and carried nosegays of Talisman roses and white asters.
Little Miss Darlene Schmidt of St. Agatha was a winsome flower girl in a rose silk floor-length skirt with hoops and trimmed with pale blue bows. She carried a very dain- ty basket of pink roses and baby's breath.
LAC. Charles Howard of Ottawa. cousin of the bridegroom was best man while the ushers were PO. Don Clement of Niagara-on-the- Lake, recently returned from overseas and Cpl. Bill Pollitt, R.CAF, of Toronto.
Following the ceremony a reception and wedding dinner was held at the Maples in Waterloo. Receiving with the bridal party was the bride's mother, wearing a two- piece of black crepe, trimmed with yellow, long yellow gloves, black hat and a corsage of Joanna Hill roses. The groom's mother wore a navy blue brocaded sheer, blue hat and accessories and a similiar corsage of Joanna Hill roses.
After the wedding dinner Cpl. and Mrs. Hunter left for a honeymoon, the bride wearing a sheer gold wool suit with black hat and accessories and a corsage of roses.
