    • SCHWANDT, James (Jim) - Passed away, suddenly, on Friday, July 23, 2004 at Grand River Hospital, K-W Health Center, Kitchener. He was born 74 years ago in Strasbourg, Sask. and was the son of the late August and Mary (Heck) Schwandt. Jim was a member of Zion United Church, New Hamburg. Beloved husband of Ann (Arneson) Schwandt of New Hamburg. Dear father of Connie and husband Larry DeMay of London and Barb and husband Terry Hinch of Pike Bay. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Kristin Hinch and Trevor Hinch. Also missed by his brother, Allan and wife Fay Schwandt of Thunder Bay; sister, Dorothy Gerrard; sister-in-law, Hazel Schwandt and brothers-in-law, Harold and wife June Arneson and Ken Arneson, all of Saskatchewan. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by brothers, Hank and wife Jennie Schwandt, Chas and wife Mary Schwandt, Walter Schwandt, Edward Schwandt; sisters, Anne and husband Dave Davies, Hilda and husband Jack Erhardt and brother-in-law, Doug Gerrard. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jim's life will take place on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion United Church, New Hamburg with Pastor Bob Thaler officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Grand River Hospital Dialysis Unit, Alzheimer Society or Zion United Church. Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg 662-1661 assisted with the arrangements. Special thanks to Dr. Vitou, the Dialysis Staff at Grand River and the Staff at Columbia Forrest.
