- PATTERSON, CHRISTINA (Nee McLean)
Suddenly, at the Willet Hospital in Paris, ON, in her 38th year, at 6: 30 on Monday evening, January 26, 1942. Wife of Elgin Patterson of R. R. #1, Galt. Mrs. Patterson had been teaching at the Kitchen School on #5 Highway, east of Paris. Born in Vancouver, she came to the Morriston district with her parents when a child. For nine years, she has been a resident of Beverly Township. She was a Presbyterian and a member of the Valens-Kirkwall Women's Institute. Surviving are her husband; one brother, Peter McLean, on active service with the Canadian Army and stationed at Brantford at the present time; and one sister, Marjorie McLean, Superintendent of the Windsor General Hospital. Harold Gray Funeral Home, Galt. Private memorial service took place at the home of her father, D. M. McLean of Badenoch, near Morriston on Saturday at 1: 45, followed by a largely attended public service in Duff's Presbyterian Church at 2: 30. Rev. Charles Mullin of Christie's Corners and Rev. J. L. Burgess of Duff's Church, Morriston officiated. There was a profusion of floral tributes. Two hymns were sung by the congregation, "The 23rd Psalm" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and Mrs. Frank Elliot sang the solo "Gathering Home". Pallbearers were: William Scott, John Clark, George Clark, Archie Scott, Ross Patterson and Lloyd McGeachy. Interment Crown Cemetery, Morriston.
