  Schumm.- Henry, died at Tavistock, Ont., Oct. 14, 1989; aged 87. He was married to Edna Schlegel, who survives. Also surviving are 5 sons (Dale, Clare, Glen, James, and Laird), 5 daughters (Ruby Wagler, Joyce Zehr, Ferne Bender, Sandra Swartzentruber, and Ruth Kropf), 39 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one brother (William). He was preceded in death by one son (Ray), 2 brothers, and 4 grandchildren. He was a member of East Zorra Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Oct. 17, in charge of Vernon Leis; interment in the church cemetery. Beloved husband of Edna Schlegel; dear father of Dale and his wife Laura and Clare and his wife Katie Anne, all of Elkhart, Ind., Glen and his wife Lydia, James and his wife Carol, Laird and his wife Lois, all of RR 1, Tavistock, Ruby and her husband Lloyd Wagler of New Hamburg, Joyce Zehr of RR 7, Woodstock, Ferne and her husband Earl Bender of RR 1, New Hamburg, Sandra and her husband Ralph Swartzentruber of RR 1, Tavistock, Ruth and her husband Terry Kropf of Mississauga; one brother, William of Tavistock. Lovingly remembered by 39 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one son, Ray in 1966; one son-in-law, Daniel Zehr in 1987; two brothers and four grandchildren. Member of East Zorra Mennonite Church. The couple observed their 65th wedding anniversary June 18. Friends may call at the Robert Krug Funeral Home, Tavistock, until noon on Tuesday, Oct. 17, when transfer will be made to East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th Line. Committal service will be held at the church cemetery at 2:30 p.m., followed by memorial service at 3 p.m. Memorials to East Zorra Mennonite Church Elevator Fund or Stratford Hospital Building Fund, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
