- ALBERT HENRY OESCH
Albert Henry Oesch, a well known resident of Milverton, passed away suddenly at his home on Mill street, east, on Wednesday, January 31st, in his 71s year. He was born on June 27th, 1891, in Pigeon, Mich., a son of the late John Oesch and Mary Ann Smith, of Zurich. In 1912 he came to Milverton where he farmed on Mill street until retiring in 1951. He married the former Emma Bender of Tavistock, in 1919. She survives. He was a member of the Amish Mennonite Church, Poole, north. Other survivors are a son, Elwood, of Listowel; two daughters, Mrs. Delmar (Dorothy) Erb of Millbank, and Mrs. Nelson (Ruth) Schultz, of RR 1, Milverton; two brothers, Wellington, of Milverton, and Irwin of Woodstock; two sisters, Mrs. Allen (Laura) Bender and Mrs. Roy (Flora) Schauber, both of Milverton, and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Clare who died in infancy, and Mervin, in 1950. The body rested at the family residence where a private service was held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. David Jantzi, of Milverton, followed by a memorial service at the Amish Mennonite Church, Poole, north, at 2:15 p.m. with Rev. Herbert Schultz, of Poole, assisted by Bishop Moses Roth, of New Hamburg, officiating. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers were Murray Schauber and Ronald Brenneman of Milverton; James Oesch, of Hamilton; Stanley Zehr, Orval Bender and Delton Bender, all of Tavistock. Relatives and friends, who attended the funeral, came from Woodstock, Zurich, Pigeon Michigan, Listowel, Hamilton, Markham, Tavistock, Waterloo, New Hamburg, Wellesley and the surrounding district.
