Jerodat, died in Lena, Illinois, after 6 days of suffering from abdominal infection, at age of 37 years. She is survived by 7 children, 6 girls & 1 boy, of whom the eldest is 15 years old and the youngest 15 months. Poem: The husband's heart is sorely stricken, The children, deeply saddened at the blow. Thwarted is many a beautiful hope, And our deepest sorrow follows. You stood by us in fear & pain, And cared for us day and night; You, with your gentle mother's heart, Were always thoughtful of our well-being.
