- Ruth Mary Panchuk
November 15, 1925 ~ October 16, 2022 (age 96)
Ruth Mary Panchuk (nee Hagmeier)
With family at her side, Ruth passed away peacefully on October 16th at North Renfrew Long Term Care at the age of 96.
Predeceased by her husband Fred Panchuk, parents Dr. John Edwin and Beata Hagmeier, sister Kay and brother Ted. Devoted mother to John of Vancouver, Jim (Kathy) of Perth, and Kathy (Tim) of Sylvania, Ohio and proud and cherished grandmother to Paul, Ian, and Mattea
Ruth was born in Kitchener, Ontario, November 15, 1925, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Waterloo Lutheran University (later to become Wilfred Laurier). After working in Bermuda and Boston she returned to Kitchener to marry Fred in 1954 and moved to Deep River in 1957. She enjoyed playing bridge, knitting and sewing, and was a volunteer for the Girl Guides, the North Renfrew Osteoporosis Self-Help Group and the Deep River Community Church as a long time Sunday School teacher. She was the eternal optimist, always quick to laugh, and the joy of her life was family, raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. McVey and all the staff at North Renfrew Long Term Care for the loving care Ruth received over the last 9 years.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Renfrew Long-Term Care Centre would be greatly appreciated.
As per Ruth's wishes cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
