- Jacob O. Dreisinger died Tuesday in Elmira, at 7: 05 p.m. He was the son of the late Mr. Jacob Dreisinger and his wife, nee Eva Oswald, and reached the age of 81 years, 7 months and nine days. He was a life-long resident of Elmira and community. He lived on a farm east of Elmira for 48 years, moving to Elmira 12 years ago. He was a life-long member of St. James' Lutheran Church and a former member of St. James' Choir. In 1887 he entered into the estate of matrimony with Louisa Ries, who predeceased him in 1891. This union was blessed with two children. In 1895 he was married to Jane Shoemaker, who survives. This union was blessed with five children. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife and five sons and two daughters, namely, Edwin Dreisinger, Elmira; Emanuel Dreisinger, Toronto; Elvina Dreisinger, Elmira; Allen Dreisinger, Elmira; Mrs. Wm. Brubacher, Elmira; Ervin Dreisinger, Elmira and Jacob Dreisinger, Waterloo. Nine grandchildren and two sisters and one brother, namely Mrs. Wm. Brox, Elmira; Mrs. Fred Hecktus, Stratford; Mr. Wm. Dreisinger, Elmira. One week ago he was stricken with a paralytic stroke to which he succumbed on Tuesday. The funeral will be conducted on Friday afternoon by Rev. L. H. Kalbfleisch with a short service at the residence of the deceased at 2: 00 p.m., followed by a service in St. James' church. Burial will be made in St. James' cemetery.

Elmira, May 13. - Jacob O. Dreisinger, aged 81 years, died yesterday at his home, 12 James Street. The late Mr. Dreisinger had been in good health until one week ago when he suffered a stroke. Born in Woolwich Township, he was a son of the late Jacob Dreisinger and Eva Oswald and had been a township resident until 12 years ago when he moved to Elmira. For 48 years he operated a farm just east of the town. Deceased was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, and a member of that choir for many years. His first wife, the former Louise Ries, predeceased him 51 years ago and in 1985 he was married to Jane Shoemaker who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Edwin of Elmira, Emmanuel of Toronto, Allen and Ervin of Elmira and Jacob of Waterloo; two daughters Miss Alvina Dreisinger, at home and Amelia, Mrs. William Brubacher of Elmira. Nine grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. William Brox of Elmira, and Mrs. Fred Hecktus of Stratford, and one brother William of Elmira, also survive. The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon, with a short service at his late residence at two o'clock, followed by a service at St. James' Church. Rev. L. H. Kalbfleisch will officiate. The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Home until 11 o'clock tomorrow, morning. Burial will be made in St. James' Cemetery.

Shoemaker, -- Joseph, was born on the Shoemaker homestead Feb. 10, 1862, and resided there until death, April 15, 1951; aged 89 y. 3 m. 5 d. Death was caused by Various physical disorders. In March, 1886, he married Eliza Burkhardt, who died in November, 1916. To this union were born 2 sons (Israel, living on the home farm, and Edwin, who died at birth). In December, 1919, he was united in marriage to Lovina Snider, who died in May, 1930. In his early manhood he united with the Mennonite Church and later became a charter member of the Floradale Mennonite Church where he remained a faithful member until death. The three and one-half years he regularly attended the Bethel Mennonite Church. He leaves to mourn 1 son and daughter-in-law, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters (Jane-Mrs. Jake Dreisinger, Elmira, Ont.; Katie-Mrs. Dilman Brubacher, St. Jacobs, Ont.; and Rachel-Mrs. Noah Lichty, Floradale, Ont.), and many relatives and friends. Services were held at the Floradale Mennonite Church May 17, in charge of Newton L. Gingrich, assisted by O. D. Snider and Rufus Yutzi. Burial was made in the North Woolrich Cemetery.
