  A-1-162 John Cairns Probate of the Will of John Cairns, late of the Town of Galt, Gentleman, deceased, on the petition of Andrew Ramsay of the Town of Galt, Tailor, and David Shiel, the elder, of the Township of North Dumfries, Farmer, the Executors named in said Will…. This is the Last Will and Testament of me, John Cairns, of the village of Galt, Gentleman. My Will is, First - That my funeral expenses and just debts shall be paid out of my estate…The residue of any of my estate, both real and personal, which shall not be required for the payment of my just debts, funeral charges, and the expenses attending the execution of this my Will…I give and bequeath to my sons James Cairns and Archibald Cairns, and my daughters, Jesse Cairns, now Jesse Lamb, Anne Cairns, now Anne Hudson and Elisabeth Cairns, now Elisabeth Hentlewood, and my Granddaughter Anne Cairns, now Anne Landreth, to be divided equally among them, share and share alike, but if either of my said sons or daughters, or my said Grand daughters are dead at the time of my decease the share of the one so dead shall be divided equally among his or her children then living at the time of his or her decease, to have and to hold the same to them…I appoint Andrew Ramsay of the Village of Galt in the county of Waterloo, Tailor, and David Shiel of the Township of North Dumfries…Executors of this my Last Will and Testament… Witnessed by David Thiel of North Dumfries and Geo.
