Mathias Fischer died 26 Jan 1861 in Carrick, Bruce Co., of the same sickness, 60 yrs, was one of the first German settlers in Carrick, his help for the other arriving settlers will not soon be forgotten. He was loved and respected by all. Is not separated from his wife even in death.
