  Alvin Brubacher Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Elmira, for Alvin Brubacher of 92 Arthur street south, Elmira. He died suddenly Monday at the age of 73. Rev. Ronald Reisdorf will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmira cemetery. Mr. Brubacher was born at Elmira, October 30, 1897, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Israel Brubacher. He was the senior partner in Brubacher's grocery store and was the oldest active merchant in town. He served as secretary of St. Paul's Lutheran church for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Lauretta Ruppel; one son, Ross of Elmira; two daughters, Marjorie (Mrs. Stewart) Lott of Baltimore, Maryland, and Jean (Mrs. Dick) Arends of London, Ontario; three brothers, Noah and Clarence of Elmira and Albert of Kitchener; one sister, Clara Brubacher of Elmira; and eleven grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. The body will rest at the Dreisinger funeral parlor until Thursday. Donations to the church are being accepted as expressions of sympathy.
