- SHANTZ, Aden M. - Peacefully, on Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Chateau Gardens Assisted Living. Aden Shantz age 80 years of Elmira.
Beloved husband of Edna (Gingrich) Shantz. Dear father of Marlene and David Martin of New Lowell, Ray and Vera Shantz, Merle and Rita Shantz, all of Elmira. Sadly missed by his 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Brother and brother-in-law of Clayton and Olive Shantz of Elmira, Edna and Noah Bowman of Floradale, Ella Shantz of RR2, Wallenstein, Vernon and Alice Shantz, Naomi and Wayne Martin, all of Elmira, Ollie and Elsie Shantz, Orvie and Mary Shantz, all of RR2, Wallenstein. Also lovingly rememembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families.
Predeceased by his parents, Oliver and Susannah (Martin) Shantz; one son in infancy; three grandchildren and his brother, Abner Shantz. The family received friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and will today (Thursday), 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The family service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, January 6, at 9: 30 a.m., then to West Montrose Mennonite Meeting House for further public service and burial in the adjoining cemetery. A special thanks to staff at Chateau Gardens for their care and support. In his memory, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association Or Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
