  SHANTZ, Edna G. (Mrs. Aden M.) - Peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Leisureworld Care Centre, Elmira. Edna G. Shantz age 81 years. Beloved wife of the late Aden M. Shantz (2006). Dear mother of Marlene and David Martin of New Lowell, Ray and Vera Shantz, Merle and Rita Shantz all of Elmira. Lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Sister-in- law of Olive Shantz, Edna and Noah Bowman, Ella Shantz, Alice Shantz, Naomi and Wayne Martin, Ollie and Elsie Shantz, Orvie and Mary Shantz. Edna was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by her parents, Moses and Lovina Gingrich; stepfather, Henry Bauman; one son, James in infancy; three grandchildren, Judy Shantz, Carolyn Shantz, and Dwayne Shantz; three sisters, Elvina Brubacher, Selema Wideman, Magdalena Bowman; and three brothers-in-law, Clayton, Abner and Vernon Shantz. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira on Monday, January 12, 2009 (today) from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. where family funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 1 p.m. then to West Montrose Mennonite Meeting House for further public service and burial in the adjoining cemetery. A special thank you to the staff at Leisureworld for their care and support. In her memory, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. Waterloo Region Record 12 Jan 2009
