- KIPFER, Allan Suddenly at home, on Monday, December 9, 2013, Mr. Gordon Allan Kipfer of Gowanstown, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Janet (Rogers) Kipfer. Father of Jennifer Kipfer of Brampton, and Andrew Kipfer and Lisa Demarte of Waterloo. Brother of Jack and Gloria Kipfer, and Sharon and Jim Stephen, and brother-in-law of Enid Rogers, all of Waterloo. Remembered also by his cousins, nieces, and nephews. While attending Waterloo University-College, Al joined the ROTC, serving in the Scott Fusiliers in Kitchener and the Highland Fusiliers in Galt. After moving to Listowel in 1965, he joined the 21st Field Regiment where he obtained the rank of Captain. While teaching at Listowel District Secondary School for over 30 years, Al volunteered with the Cadet Corp at Norwell D.S.S. Allan and Janet were faithful church and choir members at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. They enjoyed their many travels in Europe, and, being a dedicated geography teacher, Al was especially proud to have visited every Canadian Province and Territory, as well as every American State. Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home , Listowel, on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Listowel, on Thursday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Memory Gardens, Breslau. Memorial donations to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, or Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at www.eatonfuneralhome.ca
