NEW HAMBURG, Dec. 4.- -Death summoned another wellknown citizen of this district In the person of Mrs. Jonas Jacobs, at her home in Poole. The deceased had been in failing health for some time owing to heart trouble and passed away Saturday evening at 8.20. She was born in Wilmot Township on the farm now owned by John Steinmap on highway seven and eight, over 70 years ago, being in her 71st year. She lived her entire life in this vicinity having lived in New Hamburg for some time.
Besides her husband Jonas Jacobs she leaves three sons and two daughters to mourn her demise, Charles of Wilmot, Oscar of Mornington township, and Peter of Ellice township, Mrs. Alvin Roth of North Easthope and Miss Clara at home, Five brothers and two sisters also are left, Charles of Ayton, Philip of Carlsrube, Louis of Neustadt, John Kitchener and Herman of Stratford, Mrs. George Appel of New Hamburg and Mrs. George Hesch of Hanover.
The funeral will be held from her home in Poole on Tuesday afternoon at 1.30 to the Poole Mennonite church of which she was a member for services. Burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
