- PEARL, Irene Margaret Jane - Passed away peacefully, with her loving sons at her side, on January 16, 2008. Born in Abertridwr, Wales on June 28, 1920. Predeceased by her husband, Edmund (Ted) in 2000. Dear mother of Alan (Pat) of Kitchener, David (Amber) of Wales and cousin of Margaret (Arthur) Jenkins of Wales. Loving Grandma (Gia) of Rose Pearl and her partner (Dan) of Wales, Stacey (Theo) Nyburg of Cayuga, Rachel (Paul) Visser of Binbrook, Melissa (Jay) Wells-Cave of Kitchener and Bradley Wells and his partner (Molly) of Hamilton; great-grandmother of Joseph, Benjamin, Brayden and Alyssa. Irene was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the British Army. In accordance with Rene's wishes she requests friends and family remember her in their own way. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at Sunnyside Nursing Home, Kitchener. Date and time to be announced. The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of Pioneer Tower at Sunnyside Home. We know she was loved by the staff and other residents for her wit and wisdom. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to a charity of choice. We love you mum and we miss you. Arrangements entrusted to Smith's Funeral Home, Burlington, 905-632-3333.
