      22 Aug 1881 Jakob Leonhard Rau, until a few years ago, Pastor of congregations in Michigan and Canada, died in the insane asylum in Pontiac, Mich. Temporary illness of the mind made him incapable of performing his duties. His age was 65 years, 7 months and 21 days and he is survived by a widow and 10 children, who all live in Greenwood, St. Clair Co., Mich.
