- Snider, Earl S., was born in German Mills, Ont., Jan. 20, 1904; died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Dec. 31, 1985; aged 81 y. He was married to Velma Shantz, who preceded him in death. Surviving are 2 sons (Karl and Bruce), 3 daughters (Mae - Mrs. Russel Cober, Mary - Mrs. Ken Martin, and Martha - Mrs. Jim Arndt), 14 grandchildren, and 2 great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers (Melvin and Harry). He was a member of First Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Jan. 6, in charge of Glenn Brubacher; interment in First Mennonite Cemetery.

SNIDER, Earl S. -- After a brief illness, at St. Mary's Hospital, on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1985, Earl S. Snider, formerly of Warren Road, Kitchener, in his 82nd year. Loving husband of the Late Velma (Shantz) Snider; dearest father of Karl and his wife Josephine and Mae and her husband Russel Cober, both of RR 2, Petersburg, Mary and her husband Ken Martin of Waterloo, Bruce and his wife Mary of New Hamburg and Martha and her husband Jim Arndt of Kitchener. Fourteen grandchildren and two great- granddaughters. Predeceased by two brothers, Melvin and Harry. Mr. Snider was a member of First Mennonite Church and farmed in the Parkway and Nine Pines area all his life, until his retirement. The family will receive their friends at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. S. (at Westmount Road), from 7-9 Saturday evening and from 12 noon-4p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Snider will remain at the funeral home until 1 p.m., Monday, when removal will be made to First Mennonite Church, for service at 3 p.m. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery, Rev. Glen Brubacher officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations would be appreciated by the Waterloo Region Lung Association or the Mennonite Central Committee.
