MAY 10, 1922 \endash JULY 23, 2022
For a little over 100 years, Barbara Evelyn Krueger has impacted our world. On Saturday, July 23, 2022, her work here was done.
Barbara passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights Long Term Care. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell (2007), her son Jack (2019), her son-in-law David Kergin (2020), and her great granddaughter Lauren (1999). Also predeceased by her sisters and their husbands, Mary and Alex Rubanez, Rita and Herb Carey, and Betty and Frank Whaling. She also lost her sister, Eileen in infancy. Barbara was predeceased by her in-laws, Doug and Beat Roberts, Dot and Ken Woolner, Joyce and Ted Grasser and Ruth and Al Parkins. Much loved eldest daughter of the late George and Eleanor Schneider. She is lovingly remembered by her son, James and his wife Jan and her daughters, Judi Kergin and JoAnne Moore and her husband Ian. Special Nana to Mike and Erin Krueger, Jeff and Miranda Krueger, Kathy and Mark Smith, Kelly and Marc Demarest, Jennifer and Ansgar Luetke-Schelhowe, Ryan and Cindy Moore and Kristen and Jerry Charbonneau. She will be remembered and missed dearly by her 15 great grandchildren Aidan, Emily, Sean, Holly, Alexis, Myles, Casey, Catherine, Benjamin, Max, Owen, Preston, Michael, Emma, and Madi. Barbara is also survived by her brother David and his wife Linda. Many nieces and nephews will also miss Aunt Barb in their lives.
Barbara gave new meaning to the expression "if you want something done, ask a busy person!" And busy she was! She was an active member of several organizations including St. Joseph's CWL, Participation House, the Carmel Guild, and St. Mary's Hospital Giftcase volunteer. She bowled, she curled, she sewed, she knitted, and was a much sought after babysitter for her grandkids.
We want to thank the staff at Conestoga Lodge Retirement Home and those at Lanark Heights Long Term Care for the excellent loving care they provided for Mom in the final stage of her life.
Cremation has taken place. Barbara's family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, on Friday, August 5, 2022, from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m., where the Memorial Liturgy will be held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations would be appreciated to KidsAbility Centre for Child Development, 500 Hallmark Dr., Waterloo, ON N2K 3P5, or to Carmel of St. Joseph, 1127 Carmel-Koch Rd., St. Agatha, ON N0B 2L0.
