      Robert M. Beattie, one of the oldtimers of Lakeport and highly esteemed citizen, passed away on January 9th, at his home in Pismo Beach. He was a native of Canada, born September 7, 1858, at Galt, Ontario. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Harriet Nicoll Beattie, and by two daughters.

      R. M. Beattie, Former Porterville Man, Dies

      PORTERVILLE (Tulare Co.), Jan. 13. - R. M. Beattie, 82, formerly of Porterville and a brother of the late Dr. D. A. Beattie of this city and Berkeley, died this week at Pismo b Beach. Burial was at Arroyo Grande. He was a native of Canada.

      He was the father of Mrs. Clarence Spencer, San Francisco; Mrs. Walter Ruge, San Jose; Mrs. Ida Balloid, Porterville; Mrs. James Baugh, Sanger; Mrs. Floy Munger, Santa Maria; Thomas Marshall, Porterville, and William Marshall, Toronto. Several grandchildren also survive.
