    • ELMER SPIELMACHER April 11, 1921 - January 19, 2008 Passed away, peacefully, at Sunnyside, in his 87th year, surrounded by his loving family. Cherished husband of Lorraine (nee Lesperance) for 60 years. Beloved father of Linda Horn (Bob Simpson) of Waterloo, Carol Walsh (Dan) of Markham, Maxine Freeland (Brad - predeceased) of Orillia, Debbie Belkwell of Beaverton and Patrick of Kitchener. Dear Grandpa to Alan, Coralie, Hollie, Matthew, Anita, Michael (predeceased), David, James, Jeff, Jennifer, Billy and Lori. Great Pipi Grandpa to seven great-grandchildren. Precious uncle to "Baabarra" and many other loving nieces and nephews. Elmer was a Second World War veteran and served Canada overseas with distinction in the Canadian Scotties infantry division. Elmer, the last surviving member of his family is now reunited with his parents William Spielmacher and Agatha (Druar); brothers Fr. John, Leander, Albert, Sylvester, Carl, Stan and sisters Katherine, Edna and Corrine. Elmer's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, January 23, 2008 from 11: 30 to 12: 15 p.m. Funeral service at 12: 30 p.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of the funeral home. Fr. Brian Quigley officiating. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer's Society of K-W would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
