  • Notes
    • FRETZ, Viola (Nee: Musselman ) October 13, 1926 - March 14, 2011 Beloved wife of Paul Fretz (2009) for 52 years. Loving mother of Bonnie (Bill), Barbara (Chris) and Beverley (Pat). Devoted grandmother to Aaron, Simone, Adrian and Elliot. Survived by her dear brother Lorne Musselman. Predeceased by her parents Adeline and Israel Musselman and siblings Irvin Musselman, Ruby Meyers, and Eileen Jutzi. Viola worked tirelessly at home, church and in the community. She will be remembered for her compassionate and accepting spirit, sense of humour and playfulness, spiritual devotion, and the pleasure she experienced from nature, its bounty. Even in the last difficult months, Viola found strength and joy in meaningful companionship, music and her enduring faith. At Viola's request cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to share their memories of Viola with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate her life and faith will be held at Bloomingdale Mennonite Church, (835 Sawmill Road), Bloomingdale, on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 3 p.m. Private family interment will take place at Bloomingdale Mennonite Cemetery. While suffering from Parkinson's disease, the challenge of the past few years was made easier with the sustaining and constant love and dedication of Viola's caregivers: Ruth, Tamara, Dawna, Lisa, Lydia, Barb and Judy. Heartfelt thanks to the 3rd floor nurses at St. Mary's General Hospital, Dr. Bell and Dr. Ward who provided comfort and peace to Viola and her family during her final days. Condolences for the family and donations to the Parkinson Society or the Mennonite Central Committee may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519.745.8445.
