  After months of suffering, death, last Sunday, relieved Mrs. Jacob Dunke, a well-known and highly respected lady, whose demise almost in middle age, has cast a gloom over a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. Lemuel Powell, of Wallenstein, and in the year 1877 was married ot Mrs. Jacob Dunke, then a prosperous young merchant of Elmira. Her gentle and ladylike deportment won for her many friends in the village, who will miss her greatly. Although for several years a sufferer of rheumatic and heart disease, she was until recently able to be about a large portion of the time. Everything that love and forethought could do, was done for her, but during the past summer she became rapidly worse, and a loving husband and three daughters were obliged to see her waste gradually away until death claimed her for a victim, robbing them of their dearest on earth - wife and mother.
