Obituary Mrs. Norman L. Bean.
"Funeral services for Mrs. Norman L. Bean, 79 of Binning Street, was conducted in the Harrison-Gibson Funeral Home, Main Street West, on Friday, by Rev. Lloyd Stapleton of the Listowel United Church Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
Formerly Emma Louisa Berndt, Mrs. Bean died in Memorial Hospital last Wednesday. She passed away on her birthday.
Born in Bruce County on July 20, 1881, she came to Listowel in 1916. Her husband predeceased her, She was a member of the local United Church and affiliated with the local Pentecostal Church. She took an active part for many years in the United Church Women's Missionary Society and was also an active supporter of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
She is survived by four sons, Elmer of Listowel, Mervyn of South Porcupine, Dr Hibbert of Lakefield and Percy of Harriston; one brother, Henry Berndt of Edmonton, Alta; three sisters, Mrs. Elton (Lydia) Bean, Listowel; Mrs. Dave (Victoria) Chappel of Port Elgin; Mrs. Milton (Sophia) Dahmer of Underwood; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One sister predeceased her."
