    • Our village has suffered another loss this week by the death of one of its oldest residents, Adolph Hofstetter, who had been sick for nearly eleven years and during which time he bore his lot very patiently. At an early age he came to this country from Germany, living the greater part of his life on a farm in Wilmot township. About 20 years ago he moved to Baden and has been living retired since. Mr. Hofstetter was married twice; his first wife died about 25 years ago. He is survived by his second wife and family of 12 grown children from his first wife, namely, John, Joseph, Ferdinand, Mrs. Louise Binkle and Mrs. Lizzie Domman, all residents of Kitchener, Valentine and Mrs. Otto Reiha, of Baden, Mrs. Lydia Meyers, of Elmwood, Mrs. Catherine Sanford, of California, Mrs. Vera Moore, of Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs. Ella Arndt of Jackson, Mich., and Walter, of Plattsville. He is also survived by one brother, Jacob, of Baden, and one sister, Mrs. Christina Krause, of Federal, Alta., besides 35 grandchildren. The largely attended funeral was held on Thursday afternoon from his late residence to the St. Jacob's Lutheran church, Baden, for service, the burial taking place at the Wilmot Centre Cemetery.
