- SHANTZ, Lester Baer - Peacefully at Carrington Place, Ancaster on January 1, 2005 in his 91st year. Dear husband of the late Gracienne (1983) and Alberta (2004). Loving father of James Shantz and his partner Lisa Haid of Kitchener, David of Hamilton, Cheryl and her husband Jack Schumaker of New Zealand. Step-father of Laurie Daniels of St. George and Allan and his wife Jeannie Daniels of Caledonia. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Ryan, Erin and Paul Shantz, and step-grandchildren Chris, Todd and Chanda. Survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Ervin and Louisa Shantz and brother Clarence, and sisters Gladys and Vera. Mr. Shantz was a long time active member of Mt. Hamilton Baptist Church and was a long time principal and teacher in Kitchener and Hamilton. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home ANCASTER CHAPEL 378 Wilson St. E. Ancaster, Ontario (905-648-3852) on Thursday, January 6, 2005 from 11: 30 a.m. until the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1: 30 p.m. Cremation and reception to follow the service. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated. The family invite friends and relatives to sign the Book of Condolences at www.db-ancaster.ca
