  Young Man Succumbs to Injuries John Groff who had his leg badly torn while silo filling at the farm of Samuel Snyder near New Dundee three weeks ago on Monday, died at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital on Sunday as the result of his injuries. His trousers caught in the machinery while he was oiling the same, and his leg was broken in two places, above and below the knee, and otherwise badly mangled. From the outset there were only slight hopes for his recovery. On the Saturday preceding his fatal accident the deceased and his brother lost their thresh-outfit in a fire that destroyed the barn of J. J. Brown, near Ayr. The deceased was in his 22nd year, and was a son of the late Andrew B. Groff, of Wilmot. He is survived by his mother in Baden and several brothers and sisters. The remains were taken to the home of Mr. John S. Wilhelm, Erb's Road, from where the funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon to Shantz's Church and Cemetery.
