- GINGERICH, Kenneth Ray February 1919 - June 2014 Sadly we announce the passing of Ken on June 15, 2014. Of Waterloo, formerly of Baden and Sarasota, Florida. Born and raised in Baden, Ken married Edith (Roth) Gingerich in 1941, celebrating their 73rd wedding anniversary one day before he died. He is survived by his wife Edith, two daughters, Karen (Ward) Zehr, Linda (John) Michalofsky, grandchildren Drew (Nancy), Shelley (Steve), Melissa (Gary), Jody (Jody Kuntz), Jessica (Jamie), ten great- grandchildren, Meaghan, Reed, Trent, Zachary and Christopher, Lauren, Sophia and Olivia, Chloe and Kennedy. He is survived by his siblings Leona Steinman (Walter), Ray (Betty) Gingerich, Elaine Cressman, and Richard (Dorothy) Gingerich. Sister-in-law Jean Gingerich, brother-in-law Carl Oesch and John (Lorna) Roth. Predeceased by parents Peter and Barbara (Gascho), sisters Ruby Hammer, Miriam Oesch, brother Willard Gingerich and brothers-in-law Len Cressman, Walter Hammer, Glenn Roth, Harley Roth, John Stere, sisters-in-law Grace Stere, Sweetie Gingerich and Lorene Roth. Ken was past master of the Masonic Lodge, member of the Shriners. Nothing slowed him down as he continued to put his talents to work with one invention after another. Ken worked all his life as an electrician and plumber and was an avid wood worker and gardener. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m with Rev. Mark Lewis officiating. Interment to follow in Steinmann Mennonite Cemetery, Baden. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Children's Shrine Hospital Burn Unit or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
