- ATKINSON, Russell A. - Peacefully, in his sleep, on Friday, Feb. 15, 1991, at Chateau Gardens, 11 Herbert St., Elmira.
Russell, Albert Atkinson, in his 77th year, of Elmira. Loving husband of Ruby Stahlbaum; loving father of Donna Schneider of Kitchener, Connie and her husband Wayne Maher of Elmira, Bruce and his wife Debbie of Monck, Terry and his wife Debbie of Waterloo, David and his wife Brooke of Kitchener. He will also be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Todd, Kimberly, Corey, John, Brenda, Robbie, Katelyn, Gordon, Jennifer, Ashley and Rebecca. He is also survived by his twin sister, Mrs. Ivel Kreps of Elora. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Laura Atkinson. Russell will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Russell farmed until 1957 in Elora, then moved to Elmira with his family, where he worked for Schaner Fuels, Elmira for 16 years until his retirement in 1973.
Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, where the family will receive their friends this evening (Saturday) 7-9 p.m. and Sun-day 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Monday, transfer will be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Elmira, for funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Donald Stroh officiating, followed by interment in St. James Lutheran cemetery.
