  The sad intelligence of the death of Julius Beckner, son of Mrs. Beckner, this place, which took place at the B. and W. Hospital last Friday afternoon was heard with deep regret by his many friends and schoolmates there where he was well and favorably known. He was taken ill on Sunday, January 3rd, with inflammation but his condition was not considered serious until Thursday when he was removed to the hospital to undergo an operation which proved fatal. The deceased had only recently purchased the Waterloo Sun Laundry. He was aged 28 years and six months and was married about three years ago to Mary, daughter of Mr. Martin Schade, Waterloo. The funeral took place at Waterloo and was largely attended showing the high esteem in which the deceased was held by his fellow citizens. The family and relatives have out heartfelt sympathy.
