  WITMER, Lauretta Boshart May 17, 1912 - August 29, 2011 Lauretta passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was a member of First Mennonite Church. She is survived by husband John Eldon Witmer, son Murray Witmer (Ruth McManaman), daughter Dorene Rudy-Snyder (Douglas Snyder), and son James Bruce Witmer (Dianne). Predeceased by her daughter Judith Marie in 1951, parents Jonas and Magdelena Boshart, siblings and spouses; Moses and Bertha Boshart, John and Ida Boshart, Netta and Moses Gingerich, Lily and Ezra Brenneman, Mary Boshart, Menno and Mynetta Boshart, Simeon and Esther Boshart, Aaron and Marion Boshart, Gideon and Pearl Boshart, Luella and Clarence Erb, Elmina and Edward Witmer. Lauretta was Director of the W.M.S.C. Cutting Room which prepared clothing, quilts and blankets for the Mennonite Central Committee. She and her husband, managed an MCC Thrift Shop on Lancaster Street for many years. She was actively involved in Women's Sewing Committee at First Mennonite Church, Cradle Roll Department and the Seniors Groups. Lauretta loved and thoroughly enjoyed her children, grandchildren (9), and great-grandchildren (13). Friends are invited to share their memories of Lauretta with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home on Thursday, September 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Lauretta's life and faith will be held at First Mennonite Church, 800 King St. E., Kitchener on Friday, September 2nd at 2 p.m. Reception to follow. Interment will take place at First Mennonite Cemetery prior to the service on Friday at 1: 30 p.m. Condolences for the family and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Mennonite Central Committee, Fairview Mennonite Home, or a charity of your choice may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. A special thanks to Fairview Mennonite Home for the wonderful nursing care she received during her four years in long-term care.
