      DEATH OF DR. RENWICK
Courtland Loses a Highly Respected Citizen

Death came to one of Courtland's oldest citizens on Wednesday, July 3. in the person of James Weir Renwick, M.D.. in his 68th year. He had been in 'll health for some time, but after three days: serious illness he passed to his reward.

The late Dr. Renwick, had been in the early part of his life an ardent Presbyterian. He was born at Moffatt, Scotland in 1847. After the death of his mother he came with his father to Canada and settled in Hespeler, Ont., where he received his early education, later attending Toronto and Trinity universities, from which he graduated in the year 1875 with the degree of M.D.

Moving to Scotland to practice medicine, he later married Miss Mary Sophia Beemer. of that place, who survives him with two sons, Walter and Herbert, and one daughter, Miss Swartz, to mourn his death. Later, in the year 1890, he moved with his family to Courtland, where he resided till the last call.

He was considered a very able physician, but owing to ill health, he was compelled to resign his practice a few years ago. The funeral took place under Masonic auspices in Courtland cemetery, and after the interment a memorial service was held in the Methodist church by Rev. A. S. Trueblood, pastor of the church, who also officiated at the house and grave
