  THALER, Arthur 1976 THALER, Arthur\emdash at Port Moody, B.C., as a result of drowning, on Tuesday, July 27, 1976, while vacationing, Arthur Thaler, a resident of Vancouver and formerly of the K-W area, aged 54 years. Mr. Thaler was a seaman aboard the SS Alaska, formerly a member of First Mennonite Church. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Harry and Fanny Thaler and a foster sister, Evon (Mrs. Larry Walker) of Toronto. He was predeceased by his mother, the former Martha Rudy, in 1958. The funeral service will be held at First Mennonite Church on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with lay minister Earl Meyers officiating. Following the service, interment of the cremated remains will take place in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery. Donations to the Mennonite Central Committee may be made as expressions of sympathy, and may be made at the church or the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home. _______________ Mr. Thaler, a seaman, was apparently on holiday when his body was found. He left the Twin City area more than 20 years ago and worked on ships around the world, making his home on the West Coast in recent years. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thaler, 656 Weber St. E, Kitchener. He will be cremated and a memorial service held in Kitchener later this week.
