  Mrs. Fannie Habel Fannie (Gooding) Habel passed away peacefully at Trinity Village Care Centre in Kitchener on Saturday, April 3rd, 1999. She was in her 93rd year. Fannie was the daughter of the late Melissa Fried and Albert Gooding. She was employed as a cook at Goudies Department Store and at Wilfrid Laurier University. She was noted for her excellent soups. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Habel (1956). Dear mother of Helen Hewitt of Whitehorse, Yukon, Earl and his wife Shirley of RR 3, Bright and a daughter-in-law, Susan Habel. Predeceased by a son, Kenneth (1989). Lovingly remembered by ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Survived by a dear sister, Isabel Gooding and sisters-in-law, LaVona Gooding and Mary Habel of Kitchener, Beatrice Habel of Plattsville. She was predeceased by a grand-daughter in infancy; sisters Eleanor in infancy, Mabel and her husband Gordon Bullock, Pearl and her husband Leighton Shantz; also brothers Leonard and his wife Winnie Gooding and Sherwood Gooding. Family and friends were received at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where funeral and service was conducted in the chapel on Tuesday, April 6th. Rev. Melvin Otterbein officiated.
