- DEATH OF AN AGED CITIZEN
MR. FREDK. SCHLEGEL PASSES AT AGE OF 90.
One of the oldest of the residents of this district has passed to the Great Beyond, in the person of Frederick Schlegel. He has lived an honorable life, and long, as he had tained the age of 90 years.
He was a native of Germany, and was married there to Rosina Bein, who predeceased him a year ago.
They came to Canada sixty years ago, and settled at first at Morristown, in Wellington County. After living some time at Leslie, in the same county, they moved to Willamsburg, near Berlin, where he has resided for the past 38 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Luth. church for many years and a regular attendant.
About two years ago he gave his property at Williamsburg to the county and made his home at the House of Refuge, as he thought he would be better cared for there than he could be at home, owing to advanced age.
Four children survive, Carl, at Hamburg; Fred at Belden, Mich.; Mrs. Morrison, in Saskatchewan, and Edward, of San Francisco, California.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 2.30, from St. Peter's Luth. church to the new Lutheran cemetery.
