    • Passed Away

There died in Jersey City, N.J., on Wednesday of last week, Jessie Richardson, widow of the late Matthew Irving, of Galt, in the 69th year of her age. The deceased lady was well known in this town, where, with her husband and family, she lived for many years, having taken up their residence here in 1857. Shortly after the death of Mr. Irving she went to reside with a married daughter, Mrs. Teichman, in Jersey City. A short time ago she was seized with paralysis, and notwithstanding every care and attention she gradually sank. She was a native of Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Two sons and one daughter survive her, namely - David, New York; James, Chatham; and Mrs. Teichman, Jersey City. Mrs. Irving was a general favorite with those acquainted with her in this town, and the news of her death was received with regret. The remains were brought to Galt for interment, the funeral taking place on Saturday forenoon, on the arrival of the train from the east on the Great Western division.
