      Mr. Charles Fischer was born at Berlin [Kitchener] and came to Elmira with his parents when two years of age. He spent his youth and school days here and in the year 1889 succeeded his father in the barber trade. He has, in connection with his barber shop, a well-appointed pool and billiard room.

      The Grim Reaper Busy

      On Wednesday of last week there passed away a well-known business man of Elmira in the person of Charles Fischer, who had carried on a barbering business here for over 30 years, during which time he stayed very closely with his shop and took fewer holidays than most of us. He was always in good health until a few months ago, when an obstruction in the food passage made itself felt gradually lessening the amount of food he could take, so that for several weeks he had taken hardly any nourishment. He leaves a wife and two daughters, Hilda and Norraine, both at home. His aged parent's, four brothers and six sisters also survive. The funeral took place on Saturday morning and was conducted by Rev. Wilbert Mayer, of St. Jerome's College, Kitchener. The deceased was yet in the prime of life, being only 49 years old.
