- ARISS, Marshall Joseph - "Death is not extinguishing the light; it is puffing out the lamp because the dawn has come." It is with deep sorrow that his family announces his passing on Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at the age of 87. He is survived by his brother Gordon (Jean) Ariss. Predeceased by his parents, William and Annie (nee Thaler); brothers, Edward, Harold, George, William and James Ariss and sisters, Ella Snyder, Hazel Warnholtz and Winnifred Shantz. Marshall was born on March 19, 1918; served his country in the Canadian Army and Air Force during the Second World War; was a pioneer in the local plastics industry (with George Cluthe Plastics and as owner/manager of Mitchell Plastics Ltd.); served the Inter-County Baseball Association for many years as President, Convenor and Umpire-in-Chief.
