- Memorable Manitobans: George Wallace Erb (1861-?)
Born at Preston, Ontario on 11 February 1861, son of Abraham Erb and Margaret Wallace. On 5 December 1893, he was married to Fannie Henman Armel (1872-1943) of Ohio, at Toronto, Ontario. They had one daughter, Alleen Armel Erb (b 1894). In 1902, he was manager of the Winnipeg branch of the Waterous Engine Works Company. His Winnipeg home was designed by architect Herbert B. Rugh. He had a second home in Washington, DC. He was a member of the St. Charles Country Club.
