    Located on Church Street East, Elmira. Started by Henry Stumpf in 1905, joined by Caspar son in 1907-8. Caspar took over business in 1912; operated until 1949; family lived in the apartment upstairs. The photo was possibly given by Lucy Stumpf Mitchell, daughter of Caspar and Mary.

    This building was next to the rear of the Dreisinger building which was on the corner of Arthur Street North and Church Street East. A driveway and narrow right-of-way was between the buildings.

    William Ludwig's first Theatorium in Elmira was on Church, just east of Arthur Street, sharing space here with Casper Stumpf's Bakery. Then, in 1908, he built the second Theatorium at King and Church Streets. In 1923 it became the Regent. - Waterloo Historical Society 2010-026
