Sudden Passing Of Frank Klinck Shocks Residents
A useful young life was brought to a close early Monday morning, August 6, when Franklin George Klinck, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Klinck and grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Klinck, died in the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital after several week's illness, at the age of 36 years.
Born in Elmira, he attended St. Paul's Lutheran Parochial School, the Elmira Public and High Schools, and later the Ontario Agricultural College, at Guelph, where he graduated from the four year course with the degree of B. Sc. A. in 1941.
Entering the army in September 1941, where he rose to the rank of lieutenant, he served his country in Canada and England until 1946, when he was discharged.
Having been connected with the firm of Klinck Ltd., he was well and favorably known in this community. Several years ago, he was engaged by the Waterloo County Co-operative Feeds Ltd., Kitchener, of which he had been manager for the past few years.
A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, here he always had the interest of the church at heart, and has been a Sunday school teacher, treasurer of the congregation, and a member of the Church Council.
On Jan. 1, 1942, he was united in marriage to Miss Gertrude Hoffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Hoffer, Elmira, who is left to mourn his loss along with one daughter, Lynne, and one son Stephen. Also surviving are his two sisters, Helena (Mrs. Ivan Letson) of Elmira and Ruth (Mrs. Albert Lorch) of Chesley.
The funeral was held on Wednesday at 3 o'clock p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, thence to the Elmira Cemetery for burial. In the absence of the Reverend F. Malinsky, the Reverend A. Eissfeldt of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kitchener, conducted the service.
