BOWMAN, Sidney M. Peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Barnswallow Place, Elmira, at the age of 80 years. Sidney M. Bowman, formerly of Floradale, was the beloved husband of the late Ada (Gingrich) Bowman (2009). Loving father of Wayne (Andrea) Bowman of Elmira, Willie Bowman (Angie Hill) of Elmira, Dianne (Doug) Diefenbacher of RR 1, Gowanstown, Pauline Martin of RR 1, Elora, Doris (Gerald) Lichty of RR 2, Drayton, and Miriam (Rick) Metzger of Wellesley. Fondly remembered by 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Brother of George (Maryann) Bowman of Elmira, and brother-in-law of Sarah (Brubacher) Bowman. Predeceased by his parents Ishmael and Rachel (Martin) Bowman, brothers Ephraim and Norman Bowman, sister-in-law Eileen (Martin) Bowman, son-in-law Steve Martin, and grandson Ryan Lichty. The family will receive their friends and relatives on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , 62 Arthur Street South, Elmira. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Moorefield Mennonite Fellowship, 102 McGivern Road, Moorefield. Interment to follow in Hollen Cemetery. In his memory, donations to Christian Aid Ministries would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. The family wishes to thank the staff at Barnswallow Place for their kind and compassionate care over the past five years.
