  Mr. Fred. W. Lipphardt was born in Elmira in 1872. He removed with his parents to Listowel, when still a child. He learned the trade of barber and returned to Elmira in 1897 when he opened a barber shop on Church Street. Later he removed to Arthur Street, where he conducts a very creditable tonsorial establishment. He also keeps for sale a full stock of cigars and tobacconists' goods and is continually increasing his trade. Enterprising Elmira Souvenir, An historical, descriptive, and illustrated Book of the Village of Elmira, Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada, published by George Klinck, 1903.
