  Former Waterloo mayor Herb Epp dies WATERLOO - Flags are flying at half staff at Waterloo city buildings Tuesday after the death of former mayor and member of provincial parliament Herb Epp. He was 78. "He loved his community. He loved Waterloo," Waterloo Mayor Brenda Halloran said. "He dedicated his whole life to public service. He really helped build Waterloo.".... Waterloo Region Record 25 Feb 2013 Statement by Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne ______________________________ I am saddened to hear of the passing of Herb Epp. He was a proud and passionate voice for the people of Kitchener-Waterloo and his service as an elected representative did much to improve his community and his province. As a teacher and guidance counsellor, a member of the Ontario legislature and a three-term mayor of Waterloo, he dedicated himself to the betterment of people's lives. He was an important advocate for young people and contributed greatly to the development of his community. My thoughts are with his family and his community.
